Presentation of Take Care Project during Dissemination event in Valencia, Spain on February 17th 2014. Representatives of migrant communities and stakeholders expressed their interest in the project activities and products and underlined the importance for migrants to gain new communication and language skills when dealing with healthcare matters. 181 participants took part in the event.

LITHUANIA (Lietuvių)

  • At the beginning of October Soros International House (SIH) released a publication in national weekly journal “Laisvalaikis”, where among other SIH activities Take Care project was introduced by assuring that the products of the project (word fan and conversation book) will continue being applied in the Lithuanian language courses, organized by SIH

  • The director of Soros International House (SIH) Daiva Malinauskiene presented Take Care project at Vilnius Business College on the 4th of April 2014. The College organized the seminar-discussion in a framework of international project “Quality assurance in integration training for adult migrants”. During the seminar Take Care project was introduced as one of SIH projects, which significantly contributes to better integration of immigrants. The participants of the seminar-discussion were representatives of organizations and institutions working in the field of migrant integration as well as migrants. They got to know the objectives, main results and products of the project, which migrants could apply in everyday life situations and organizations could use it in their work with migrants.
  • At the beginning of June 2014 the director of Soros International House (SIH) Daiva Malinauskiene and English language teacher Aušra Nakas participated in the XII Baltic Sea NGO Forum, which was organized in Turku (Finland). Annual NGO Forum serves not only as a meeting point for NGOs but also offers an opportunity for a dialogue between NGOs and public authorities on future perspectives of co-operation. During this event several SIH projects including Take Care were introduced. At the stand which was shared together with Lithuanian Association of Adult Education SIH representatives introduced Take Care project ant its products to the participants of the Forum from different countries.
  • On the 19th of June 2014 Soros International House organized a seminar-meeting “Migrant Integration processes in Lithuania. How we understand cultural uniqueness and diversity”. The participants of the event represented different migrant organizations, ethnic communities, Ministry of Science and Education, Vilnius University, Migration Department, some language teaching institutions and general public, which included a large number of immigrants. They had an opportunity to get to know about Take Care project and its results, which were informally presented during the event and products were distributed. The participants also heard interesting presentations about minorities, adult education, different perceptions of the word “cultural” and took part in interactive tasks.
  • Take Care project was presented during the international conference “Innovating Language Teaching and Learning in Europe: Diversity, Quality, Mobility, Employability“, which was organized by Lithuanian Association of Language Teachers on the 9-10th of June 2014. The aim of the conference was to discuss significant issues related to language teaching, learning and scientific research, to share experiences, insights and attitudes in the sphere of language teaching modernization; to disseminate related Lithuanian experiences in Europe; to enhance experience of teaching and learning of the mother-tongue and other languages.
